Information regarding ASTRA S.A.

The Policyholders Guarantee Fund recommends any person who invokes a right of insurance claim against Asigurare Reasigurare Astra S.A undertaking, currently in bankruptcy, to provide in the correspondence carried out with our instituion, the identification number of the claim file opened by Astra or the identification number of the claim file opened by the Fund, as appropriate.

The identification number is useful for rapidly identifying the claim file in our evidences and to facilitate our activity regarding the hadling of the claim file.

As a reminder, pursuant of art. 13 para. (1) of Law no. 213/2015 regarding the Policyolders Guarantee Fund, corroborated with art. 266 para. (2) of Law no. 85/2014 regarding the insolvency prevention procedures and insolvency, the Policyholders Guarantee Fund is entitled to make payments from its available assets to insurance creditors only after the decision for opening the bankruptcy proceedings remains final and binding. In order for the Fund to move towards the payment of amounts due to insurance creditors, it is necessary for the insurance creditors to address the Fund with a motivated payment request and for the claim files to be complete. The standardized payment request is provided in Annex no. 6 to A.S.F. Norm no. 16/2015 and can be found and downloaded from our website – section Astra Information.

The maximum guarantee threshold backed by the Policyholders Guarantee Fund for one insurance creditor is of 450.000 LEI, established compliant with art. 4 para. 2 lett. e). corroborated with art. 15 para. 2 of Law no. 213/2015.
