  • Clarifications regarding the mandate of the Policyholders Guarantee Fund (PGF/FGA) for the administration of City Insurance S.A

Bucharest – 07 June 2021  By FSA Decision no. 724/2021, FGA was appointed as temporary administrator to City Insurance S.A., for a mandate of 4 months. The role of the FGA is to re-establish the financial situation of the insurer and to ensure a sound and prudent management of the business activity.

Any request regarding City Insurance S.A. must be addressed directly to the company.

Requests for opening claim files and requests for payment shall be addressed to City Insurance S.A. and they shall be settled pursuant to provisions of Law no. 132/2017 and pursuant to insurance clauses, as appropriate.

Any requests addressed to the FGA (either for opening a claim file or for payment) shall not be analyzed and, according to the law, FGA is under no obligation to forward such requests to City Insurance S.A. Requests as such (either for opening a claim file or for payment) shall not be considered as being within the 90-days term provided by art. 12 para (1) and by art. 14 para (1) of Law no. 213/2015, as the conditions provided by Law no. 213/2015 are not met.
